Tool and safety rules

These rules protect renters, owners and third parties. They supplement the terms and apply to every tool offered through Tiggy.

Owner responsibilities

  • List only tools the owner owns or is authorised to rent.
  • Provide the tool in a safe, functioning, properly maintained and complete condition suitable for the described purpose.
  • Fully disclose known defects, repairs, recalls, use restrictions and required qualifications.
  • Provide or clearly identify the manual, safety devices and required personal protective equipment.
  • Truthfully document identity, serial number, accessories and condition at pickup and return.

Renter responsibilities

  • Follow instructions, warnings, age, qualification and use restrictions.
  • Use required protective equipment and inspect the tool for evident hazards before use.
  • Do not use it under the influence of alcohol, drugs or impairing medication, or without the necessary ability.
  • Do not remove or bypass safety devices or pass the tool to unauthorised third parties.
  • Stop use immediately and inform the owner and Tiggy if a defect, recall, accident or unusual behaviour becomes apparent.

Prohibited listings

  • Stolen, counterfeit, recalled, manipulated or evidently unsafe tools.
  • Weapons, explosives, pyrotechnics and items primarily intended to injure people.
  • Tools missing required guards, warnings or authorisation.
  • Items whose possession, transfer or use is prohibited or requires an authorisation that cannot be verified.
  • Tools containing undisclosed hazardous substances or other undisclosed material risks.

Reporting and immediate action

Unsafe tools, accidents and recalls must be reported promptly with the listing or booking ID to support@tiggy.eu. Tiggy may suspend the listing during review, inform affected users and request necessary evidence. In an immediate danger, injury or fire, contact emergency services on 112 or the competent police first.

No safety guarantee

Tiggy cannot physically inspect every tool and does not guarantee its condition or suitability. Tiggy’s own statutory review and response duties remain unaffected. Platform information and Tiggynator do not replace the manual, manufacturer information, professional instruction or the user’s own safety check.
